Marni Doerfler, M.S.W., LCSW

Biography

Marni Doerfler’s professional life evolved from an interest in human biology to an interest in human behavior after starting out as a paramedic in Vancouver, Washington. Her career path then progressed from EMS to education to social work. Marni was able to braid these three paths into her work with pregnant and parenting teens, adjudicated youth, adolescent foster youth and families of adolescents. Her original interest in biology and health then led Marni to primary care where she worked as a social work care manager and then behavioral health consultant in Washington County. It was Marni’s work in primary care in Hillsboro and Forest Grove that inspired her to pursue a position at OHSU in addiction treatment in rural health care. Marni is part of the MAT team at the Scappoose clinic, providing behavioral health and substance abuse treatment for patients who request it. Marni is passionate about building trusting relationships with patients to help them explore the connection between addiction and trauma.

When not working Marni enjoys cheering on her daughter’s dance team, chilling with her dogs, traveling and spending quality time with friends and family.
