Biography

Aura is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP-BC) and Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). She graduated from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with her Masters in Nursing in 2014. Previously she worked for 7 years as a critical care nurse at multiple UCLA and Kaiser Permanente.  

She joined the OHSU team in 2014 as a Bariatric Surgery and Foregut Surgery Nurse Practitioner. She worked inpatient and outpatient for 7 years and is now full time our Bariatric Clinic. 

She is passionate about Obesity Medicine and Bariatric surgery because she feels our services promote overall health, quality of life, self-care, compassion and increased knowlege of the chronic disease of obesity. She is active in national, regional and local obesity/bariatric surgery comittees, enjoys advocating for obesity education and reduction of bias, and is always learning to keep her skills up to date. 

In her spare time, she is a proud mom, happy partner to her signficant other of 10 years, enjoys traveling, hiking, concerts, museums, reading and cooking. You can find her strolling the city with her mini Aussie and family or trying out a new restaurant.
