Joyce Hollander-Rodriguez, M.D. appointed to serve on national ACGME Institutional Review Committee
Joyce Hollander-Rodriguez, M.D., professor of family medicine and associate dean for Graduate Medical Education in the OHSU School of Medicine, was appointed to serve on the national ACGME Institutional Review Committee. She will serve a six-year term. The Institutional Review Committee accredits and oversees organizations that provide graduate medical education programs in the U.S., ensuring they meet rigorous standards for supporting residents and fellows. Candidates are identified by nomination and selected through a months-long process requiring CVs and statements of interest, with a focus on diversity, experience and geographic representation.
OHSU Richmond clinic earns 2025 OHSU HCC Impact Award
The Hierarchical Condition Categories team has named OHSU Primary Care, Richmond, as the recipient of the 2025 OHSU Health HCC Impact Award, recognizing the clinic’s outstanding commitment to closing HCC gaps and improving patient care. Congratulations, Richmond Team!
The Gerontological Society of America awards Fellow status to OHSU researchers
Congratulations to Ana R. Quiñones, Ph.D. for being awarded the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) awards Fellow status! This is in recognition for outstanding contributions to the field of gerontology and represents the highest category of GSA membership. GSA is the oldest and largest interdisciplinary scientific organization dedicated to research, education and practice in the field of aging. It serves more than 6,000 members in over 50 countries.

Claire Hays Montaigne Award
The Claire Hays Montaigne Endowment was established in memory of Claire Hays Montaigne, who completed her family medicine residency at OHSU and was an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at OHSU when she died of metastatic melanoma in 2022.

Student Mentor Awards
2026 Student Mentor Award Recipients:
- Lynn Bajorek was the recipient of the Robert B. Taylor Award, for student who best exemplifies the qualities of the ideal family physician. The award is named in honor of Dr. Robert B. Taylor, former Chair of the Department of Family Medicine
- Victoria Vanderpoel was the recipient of the Outstanding Family Core Clinical Award for demonstrating a superior understanding of and appreciation for the specialty as well as commendable professionalism and outstanding academic achievement.
- Nadia King received the William O. Stahl, M.D. Award for Oregon Rural Health Practitioners. This endowed fund established in honor of William O. Stahl. Created to support M.D. & P.A. students who are dedicated to pursuing a career in Oregon rural health.
- Jessica Latham received the Peggy O’Neill Excellence in Student Education Award: A staff member who assists with student education and includes but not limited to: EJH MSE staff, clinic staff at OHSU, clinic staff at any student teaching site across Oregon, SOM staff, administrative staff for any clinic or clinician that enabled excellent teaching. Goes above and beyond expectations in their role.
- Eriko Onishi, M.D. received the Fran Biagioli, M.D. Outstanding Didactic Teaching Award for exhibiting strong commitment to teaching and mentoring of medical students, demonstrates a true FM educator, able to work with all learner skill levels, adaptable educator with innovative teaching styles.
- Moira Ray, M.D., MP.H., and Emily Waterman, M.D., M.P.H. was the recipient of the Scott A. Fields, M.D., M.H.A. Outstanding Medical Student Teaching and Mentoring Award, for exhibiting strong commitment to teaching and mentoring of medical students, demonstrates a true FM educator, able to work with all learner skill levels, adaptable educator with innovative teaching.
- Stephanie Laudert, M.D. was the recipient of the Lewis and Ruth Carpenter Teaching Award. The award is given annually to a volunteer (non-OHSU) faculty member of the OHSU Department of Family Medicine who is actively engaged and committed to one-on-one teaching in the ambulatory setting.
- Lisa Steffey, D.O., the inaugural recipient of the Cascadia Education Legacy Award. The award honors exceptional individuals who have made a profound and enduring impact on medical education in the Pacific Northwest. Named in tribute to the Cascadia region’s spirit of resilience, growth, and stewardship, this award recognizes faculty whose dedication to teaching has shaped generations of physicians and strengthened the fabric of our learning community.
