About me
Patti Hanson specializes in midwifery and obstetrics, women's health and gynecology and colposcopy procedures. Her interest lies in ethics in decision making and the consent process in obstetrics. Patti loves working with families and helping guide them through stressful and exciting life events. She is honored to be present with women during labor and childbirth. For her, midwifery is a passion, not just a job.
Originally from the Philadelphia area, Patti moved to Oregon after attending school for midwifery in New York City. She chose to work at OHSU because she can practice the art of midwifery within a hospital system as well as teach the next generation of midwives. A nature lover, Patti loves to hike, ski and kayak with her husband and two children.

Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
