Dr. Oren Shaked joined the OHSU team in 2023. He specializes in liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation. As the son of a transplant surgeon, Dr. Shaked was inspired early in his life by patients and families who told him of the heroes on the team who transformed their lives so dramatically for the better. In addition to treating patients, he is interested in forwarding the scientific understanding of organ transplantation, and integrating new technologies in genetics, informatics, and organ preservation to further improve outcomes after surgery.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Shaked enjoys cooking, reading, and exploring the great outdoors with his wife, Alona, their two daughters, and dog Franklin.

Insurance
Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
