About me

Dr. Desmarais enjoys being a general rheumatologist. She has a special interest in teaching and is participating in a faculty development program for educators. She has completed the USSONAR program in musculoskeletal ultrasound, and enjoys incorporating ultrasound use into patient care.

  1. This is a physician of the highest caliber: so knowledgeable, so genuinely concerned for her patient, utterly focus on the task at hand; yet, caring and kind. Simply the best.

  2. I think Dr. Demarais is wonderful and really listens to me and helps me everytime I've needed help with my health problems.

  3. I have seen this Dr for 6 years. She is AMAZING and truly feel she wants to help..My blood work is with in normal parameters but with visual inspection you can definitely see I am not what my labs equal. She has worked diligently to get meds approved, has a gentle exam touch when joints are full, knows when and where to poke, and very knowledgeable and remembers me I'm not just a number in a cog.

  8. Dr. Desmarais is THE best physician that I have had at OHSU. Is very knowledgeable, professional, and has empathy.something many MDs lack. She actually LOOKS at her patient and actually listens. I am in my 80s and she does NOT treat me as if I am senile NOR does she talk very loud in case I am deaf. Something many OHSU practitioners do. Unfortunately.

  11. She is always prepared! Listens carefully and follows up if there are any loose ends after the visit is over. She will call me if she has any new information. I trust her completely. I am 71 and she is the best doctor I have ever had. I wish she was my primary care doctor.

She asks lots of questions concerning the progression of my disease, the efficacy of the meds I'm on and offers additional meds to support my current care plan.

I appreciate that she is willing to discuss things I have read and takes my comments and questions seriously. I have never failed to leave a visit with her without feeling optimistic and supported.
