She has expertise in the realm of gender-affirming care, and is a co-founder of the OHSU Transgender Health Program – the only academic, interdisciplinary program of its kind in the country.

Dr. Milano is also the creator and medical director of the Richmond Engagement and Community Health team, a collaborative endeavor between CareOregon and OHSU Richmond designed to increase the health resiliency of Medicaid members who are struggling to manage advanced illness in the setting of social isolation. Dr. Milano recently served for two years as the medical director of CareOregon Metro, in service to 150,000 Medicaid members living in greater Portland.

She specializes in providing family planning and related procedures to women of all ages, the care of transgender patients (including hormone therapy), and in the post-hospital care of complex medical patients.

In her spare time, Dr. Milano enjoys adventuring outdoors with her family and playing her guitar.

The OHSU Transgender Health Program (THP) is dedicated to supporting access to high-quality, affirming and welcoming health care for trans men and women, gender nonconforming and nonbinary individuals. Our program recognizes the unique health care needs of people with diverse gender expressions and identities. The THP provides direct medical care as well as consultation, education, advocacy, support and policy development to promote competent care for transgender people.
