Course Description
The purpose of this workshop is to provide an 8-hour OBMI approved practical workshop and practical exam that, in combination with a 16-hour didactic training completed prior to the workshop, will earn you a certificate of completion of the OBMI’s approved Bone Density Equipment Operator (BDEO) training course. This certificate is required to register for the ARRT’s BDEO Examination in fulfilment of the OBMI requirements to become a limited permit holder in BDEO in Oregon.
The first day will be mostly instructional where participants will be taught the basics of DXA technology and operation, patient positioning, patient care and safety, and image production and analysis. The second day will consist of review and practice for the first half of the day, followed by individual practical exams (~45 min each). Exams are done in pairs and we will try to order exams depending upon time and need, but there is no guarantee you will be able to leave before 5pm on Wednesday.
*The 16-hour ASRT didactic training is required prior to course dates. Payment for this training is ($320/$240 for ASRT members) and is a separate charge from the OHSU course.
The cost for this course is $750. OHSU employees/students will receive a discount of $250.
