Seminar Description

Dr. Katie Zuckerman will discuss the importance of having a wide range of people in your lab, each bringing different kinds of ‘expertise’ to successfully conduct research with a wide range of participant populations.  She will describe the principles and strategies to structure your lab to support team members including different activities to consider for lab meetings and events, tips for the hiring process, the importance of having a written lab manual and the content for that manual.  She will discuss mentorship vs sponsorship and how to craft and use mentoring contracts. Throughout, she will describe how you can support career development of all the members of your lab.
