Natural History of the Progression of X-Linked Retinitis Pigmentosa

Natural History of the Progression of X-Linked Retinitis Pigmentosa (XOLARIS Study)

The purpose of this study is to learn more about a condition called X-linked retinitis pigmentosa (XLRP). The study investigators want to gain a better understanding of disease progression over time in subjects with XLRP. 

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • Age: 16 years and older 
  • Male 
  • Must have a diagnosis of XLRP 
  • Good general health 

The study will occur at the Casey Eye Institute in Portland, OR. You will have 7 visits over the course of 24 months. Each study visit is expected to last about 1-2 days and will involve functional vision tests and dilated eye exams. 

All study procedures will be covered by the study sponsor and travel reimbursement is available.

A Phase III trial is being planned at a later date and patients from the XOLARIS study may be able to participate if the relevant Phase III inclusion/exclusion criteria are met.
