Choroideremia (CHM) Natural History Study

The purpose of this study is to learn more about Choroideremia; how this condition affects a person's eyes and vision and add to the knowledge base for this rare disease.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Age: 18 years and older
  • Male
  • Must have clinical diagnosis of Choroideremia.
  • Must have Choroideremia determined by a genetic testing
  • Good general health

Interested participants will come to the Casey Eye Institute in Portland, OR, for the first study visit, which will last 1-2 days. There will be a variety of tests and the patient will be examined by a doctor at the end of each visit.

During the study, subjects will have 4 visits at the Casey Eye Institute in total.  Participation will last for 12 months. Each study visit will last about 8-10 hours and will include vision function tests, dilated eye exams, and ocular photography.
