About me

Dr. Mayersak joined the Department of Emergency Medicine as full-time faculty in 2015. She has a Masters in Analytical Chemistry and formally worked in the Explosives and Propellant Division at the Naval Surface Warfare Center prior to making the transition into the healthcare field. She has been actively involved in medical student and resident education and served on several committees. She taught Emergency Department Critical Care Assessment and Procedures, an undergraduate Emergency Health Science course, the Practice of Medicine fourth year medical student capstone course, and was a CAP student preceptor for first and second year medical students. Her academic interests include medical education, medical ethics, palliative medicine, and areas covering specific system issues like ED super-utilization. She enjoys reading, shopping, travelling, and spending time with her friends and family.
