About me

Dr. Eric Kawulok was born and raised in Wyoming where he attended the University of Wyoming for a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He earned his optometry degree at Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. During his time at Pacific University he was awarded for Clinical Excellence in the Field of GP Contact Lenses.

Throughout his educational journey Dr. Kawulok had the opportunity to complete externships at the United States Air Force Academy, Spokane Veterans Administration, and Mayo Clinic. During his externships he developed an appreciation for medical contact lenses and the value these devices provided to patient care. Following completion of optometry school, he pursued specialty training in medical contact lenses with a fellowship at the Casey Eye Institute.

After completion of his fellowship, Dr. Kawulok accepted a position at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Spending almost 10 years at the Mayo Clinic, he offered comprehensive eye care to patients, including post-operative care for individuals who underwent cataract and glaucoma surgeries. During his tenure, he expanded the medical contact lens practice, specifically for patients who suffered from ocular surface disease and irregular corneas. During that time, Mayo Clinic awarded Dr. Kawulok Top Provider Recognition during the years 2020-2022. In the spring of 2023, Dr. Kawulok accepted the opportunity to return to Casey Eye Institute and move back to the Northwest.

Growing up in Wyoming shaped his enjoyment of the outdoors and importance of family. He loves to spend time outdoors with his family and participate in the occasional sporting activity. He looks forward to establishing roots in the Northwest again and working with the Casey Eye Institute team.
