About me

Dr. Chara Rydzak is a member of the Cardiothoracic imaging section in the OHSU Department of Radiology. She obtained her medical education at Harvard University where she received and MD PhD in Health Policy with a concentration in Decision Science.  Dr. Rydzak completed her Radiology residency at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia with a concentration in Cardiothoracic imaging and a mini-fellowship in Global Health Radiology followed by a Body Imaging Fellowship at Stanford University. She comes to OHSU from the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis where she was a member of the Cardiothoracic imaging section.

Dr. Rydzak has special interests in Public and Global Health as well as comparative effectiveness research as it relates to radiology. Currently she does work in Lung cancer screening and program development and also has an interest in interstitial lung diseases.  Dr. Rydzak is dedicated to innovation in medical education and seeks to foster a diverse and inclusive community that supports individuals in achieving their full potential and contributing to the greater good. Dr. Rydzak also seeks to use radiology images as a means to inform and educate the wider public concerning important health topics and facilitate community engagement. 

Dr. Rydzak hails from the Great Northwest and grew up around Seattle. Fun fact - She is a former competitive synchronized swimmer, previously on the Stanford University Varsity Team in college. She enjoys the arts, good food, exercise and the great outdoors.
