The Benson Wellness Center welcomes Portland students and community members ages 7 to 21 even if you can’t pay or lack insurance. We take all insurance plans.

For the 2023-24 school year, we are at the Marshall Campus, 3905 S.E. 91^st Ave., Portland, OR 97266. Our permanent home is Benson Polytechnic High School in Northeast Portland.

We support children’s health by providing primary care in a school setting. Primary care includes:

• Wellness and prevention care
• Treatment for minor injuries and common illnesses
• Behavioral care

We are a Federally Qualified Health Center.

Patient confidentiality:

We respect the role parents and guardians play in children’s health and well-being. We encourage patients to discuss their health with parents or guardians. If we want to talk with parents or guardians, we often ask patients if that’s OK first.

We also value our patients’ privacy. Our services are confidential.

We must report some situations:

• Patients are doing things that could cause serious harm or death to themselves or someone else.
• Patients have a life-threatening health problem.
• Patients tell us they:
  • Plan to cause serious harm or death to themselves or someone else.
  • Were or are being abused physically, sexually or emotionally.
  • Are having sex with someone three or more years older.

Patient rights

You have the right to:

• Ask what’s planned for your care, and to say no to the plans.
• Have a chaperone (someone who watches the doctor or nurse) during a physical exam.

In Oregon, you do not need parent or guardian consent for:

• General health care if you’re 15 or older.
• Mental health counseling, including drug and alcohol services, if you’re 14 or older.
• Birth control (contraception).
• Services for sexually transmitted infections or diseases (STIs or STDs).
