Funding Resources - Find Funding

Find     |     Write     |     Apply

The first step in developing a project and an application is to identify a funding agency with opportunities that fit your research goals. To assist in your search, the databases below contain information on opportunities from federal, private, and industry sources.

Federal Databases allows you to identify and apply for competitive grant opportunities from federal grant-making agencies. It is an E-Government initiative operating under the governance of the Office of Management and Budget, and managed by the Department of Health and Human Services.

In addition to its database function, is a learning resource and a free subscription service. You can register to receive e-mail notifications about grants announcements customized by funding opportunity number, selected agencies, specific categories of funding activities, selected interests and eligibility groups, or simply all grant notices.

While not a database of  open requests for applications, the Research Portfolio Online Reporting Tools database, or RePORTER, is a searchable database of past and current federally funded biomedical research projects conducted at universities, hospitals, and other research institutions. It is a great tool for identifying the kind and type of grants awarded from a particular agency.
