5th Annual Multiple Sclerosis Wellness Research Symposium: Microbiome and Brain Health in MS

Presented by the OHSU MS Wellness Research Group, this accredited, half-day symposium will explore the role of the gut microbiome in the pathophysiology of MS. Speakers will explore the role of the microbiome in health and disease, the mechanisms by which gut flora can influence the health of the brain and nervous system, and how the microbiome can be influenced by external factors such as nutrition. Finally, we will discuss the effects of interventions targeting the microbiome in the EAE model of MS as well as in people with MS, and generate research questions for future cross-disciplinary studies. For basic scientists and clinicians with an interest in microbiome research. The symposium welcomes participants at all stages of expertise. |
