Activity and Credit

The overall goal of this activity is to provide an online continuing education update for clinical informatics and health information technology (HIT) professionals. The intended audience is those who have a clinical focus on clinical informatics and desire to learn more about the application of data analytics to clinical settings. The primary objective of the activity is to allow clinical informaticists to learn about recent advances in their professional domain in order to be more effective.

The learning activity consists of multiple modules that are estimated to take a total of 8 hours to complete. The activity is completely online, and consists of lectures and self-assessment quizzes. 

We are not able to offer OHSU academic credit for the course.

Although the course is open to all healthcare professionals and health informatics/IT professionals, physicians will additionally be able to obtain continuing medical education (CME) credit through OHSU. For physicians certified in the new Clinical Informatics Subspecialty, Lifelong Learning and Self-Assessment (LLSA) credits towards American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM) Maintenance of Certification Part II (MOC-II) requirements for the subspecialty will also be available.

Activity Details

The activity will consist of several talks given by Division of Medical Informatics, Clinical Epidemiology, and Translational Data Science faculty that will focus on recent developments in the field. The activity will be hosted on the Brightspace learning management system as enduring learning material. Once learners enroll in the activity, they will have access to Brightspace and be able to complete the activity and evaluations at their own pace.

Registration and enrollment

Registration for course will open on October 1, 2026.  

Registration is a two-step process: learners will first register via a web link and then transfer to another website to pay for the course.  Course access instructions will be emailed to learners after completing the registration process.

Visa and MasterCard are the only credit cards accepted.

After registration, participants will be sent login information to the OHSU Brightspace Learning Management System (LMS). After completing all of the modules and the self-assessment quizzes, each participant will need to complete the evaluation form, and will then be sent a PDF Certificate of Completion via email. 

Within the Brightspace LMS, each module will provide an overview of learning objectives, one or more lecture segments (in a format viewable on both computers and mobile devices), optional additional materials, and a self-assessment quiz of 5-10 multiple-choice questions.

Your registration is not complete until payment for the course is submitted. You will be directed to pay for the course once you submit your registration form. ONLY Visa and MasterCard accepted Master and Visa icons. We do not accept American Express or Discover Card.

Once you have registered, please allow up to 2 business days for your registration to be processed and to receive an email with login details for the course.
