Body Imaging

The Body Imaging section of Diagnostic Radiology provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic services at OHSU. The state of the art computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, xray, and fluoroscopy services using the latest imaging techniques offer the most advanced evaluation for abdominal and pelvic pathology. The body section also performs a broad range of interventional procedures under CT or ultrasound-guidance, including solid organ biopsies and aspirations.

Each body imaging radiologist is certified by the American Board of Radiology and fellowship-trained in body imaging. The staff works closely with internal medicine, multiple surgical specialties, gynecology, and other clinical services. Weekly interdisciplinary conferences focusing on in-depth patient care are held with multiple surgical and oncologic services.

Body Imaging Fellowship

  • 1-year fellowship
  • 2 positions per year
  • Non-ACGME accredited*

*The Body Imaging Fellowship at OHSU is a non-ACGME fellowship program. Candidates for fellowship are selected through individual applications, not through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).

The Body Imaging Fellowship at OHSU provides comprehensive training in abdominal and pelvic imaging with a primary focus on CT, MRI, and ultrasound. The program emphasizes clinical excellence through a balanced experience in both diagnostic imaging and image-guided procedures.

Fellows gain hands-on experience at the workstation and in procedural settings, with graduated autonomy throughout the year. Active participation in interdisciplinary conferences and collaboration with residents support skill development and clinical confidence.

Clinical Experience

Fellows are exposed to a broad range of adult pathology at a high-volume academic medical center, including a Level 1 trauma center, a major oncology program through the Knight Cancer Institute, and active transplant services.

Training includes CT, MRI, and ultrasound interpretation, along with image-guided biopsies and aspirations. The ultrasound service provides experience across abdominal, gynecologic, vascular, and small parts imaging.
