FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS
OHSU offers several pre-tax medical and dependent care savings accounts to use for eligible medical expenses and child/elder care. OHSU offers a Full-Medical FSA, a Health Savings Account, a Limited Purpose FSA, and also Dependent Care FSA. A great way to lower your taxable income.
Both short and long-term disability plans are voluntary options available to provide income replacement when an employee experiences a serious illness or injury. The short-term disability plan replaces up to 65 percent of pre-disability income for up to 180 days. Long-term disability provides up to 65 percent of pre-disability income replacement after 180 days.
VOLUNTARY INSURANCE PLANS
Employees can enroll in Hospital Indemnity Insurance and/or Critical Illness Insurance to help pay for unexpected out-of-pocket expenses related to a hospital stay or to a covered illness.
OHSU provides employees partial or full reimbursement of tuition costs paid for for-credit courses meeting requirements of undergraduate or graduate degree programs. The School of Nursing provides up-front discounted tuition to eligible ONA represented employees for RN to BS and Graduate School of Nursing programs. Also, the Professional Development Reimbursement Program provides reimbursement to eligible AFSCME represented employees for qualifying noncredit classes, workshops, certifications, licenses, conferences, seminars and related materials, and classes.
OHSU offers all eligible employees a discounted Tri-Met or C-Tran buss pass, available for unlimited use throughout the Tri-Met or C-Tran service areas. In addition employees may ride the Portland Aerial Tram free of charge.
PAID PARENTAL LEAVE
Three calendar weeks of leave that is paid by OHSU at 100 percent of the employee's pay for time away from work due to the birth or adoption of a child. Eligibility restrictions apply.
The comprehensive employee wellness program at OHSU offers wellness screenings, health coaching, educational materials, support groups, seminars and more, free of charge, for OHSU employees who qualify for benefits. This program supports OHSU employees in improving their quality of life. The March Wellness center, located on the OHSU waterfront campus, is open to all employees for membership or per-class fees. The Center offers a gymnasium, weight room, cardio equipment, racquetball and squash courts, swimming pool, hot tub and a variety of classes and programs. OHSU offers an Employee Assistance Program which provides free, confidential and professional assistance to help benefit eligible employees and their families resolve problems that may affect their personal lives or job performance.
Companies within the local community and beyond offer discounts to OHSU employees. Groups like Rose Quarter, Mt. Hood Meadows and Apple are just some of the organizations that have previously provided substantial discounts and special offers to employees of OHSU.

CREDIT UNION MEMBERSHIP
Employees have access to credit union memberships with Advantis or OnPoint credit unions.
OHSU recognizes there are many options in building a family. We are here to offer financial support to eligible employees who are adopting a child. This will be an aggregate limit up to $5, 000 per employee, per one adoption.
Employees receive priority enrollment and a 10 percent tuition discount at Healthy Starts Children’s Center at OHSU, a state-of-the-art childcare center that opened in November 2010. The center is located in the South Waterfront, next to OHSU’s Center for Health & Healing at the base of the Portland Aerial Tram. Healthy Starts offers quality care for children aged six weeks to 5 years in an eco-healthy environment, with low child-to-teacher ratios. For more information, see the Healthy Starts web site.
