OHSU Dental Prom

Dental Prom

It’s prom season!

But forget the limos and corsages. Attendees at the OHSU School of Dentistry’s third annual GV Black Tie Ball on April 19 elected a prom court with the king donning a gold “crown” and the queen receiving a PFM “crown.”  Giant foil mouth mirrors for use as royal scepters completed the honor, received this year by fourth-year dental students Kyle Malloy and Eva Kiezik.

The rest of the prom court included:  Brian Bollwitt and Katie Shelton (Class of 2014), Sarin McKenna and Phil Henzlik (Class of 2015), and Thanh Truc and John Yi (Class of 2016).

“We had approximately 250 people attend,” said third-year dental student Tesha Waggoner, who coordinated the OHSU dental prom. “We had a Big Band which featured one of our own professors, Ken Willeford [D.M.D. `79]. They played great songs by Frank Sinatra, Billie Holliday, and other music from that era to give the prom a really classy feel.” Alex Vo, D.M.D. `12, was the disc jockey.
