What sets us apart

Our faculty members are known nationally and internationally for their work on infectious diseases.

  • We offer the only transplant infectious disease expertise in Oregon
  • We are designated a Center of Excellence for Antimicrobial Stewardship by the IDSA and a Bronchiectasis and NTM Care Center Network Center of Excellence by the COPD foundation
  • We offer a nationally recognized outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT) program
  • Infectious Diseases faculty work closely with Addiction Medicine (IMPACT team), OPAT nursing and pharmacy teams and multiple services across OHSU to create multidisciplinary care models, such as the OPTIONS-DC conference for patients with serious infections and substance use disorders.
  • Multiple faculty members hold appointments in the OHSU–Portland State University School of Public Health, where a multidisciplinary research group supports ID projects and trainee scholarly work.
  • Our division is highly collegial. We promote work-life balance for faculty and trainees, supporting time off, hobbies and family life as keys to long-term professional success.
