The School of Medicine's Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences (PBMS) administers the application process for prospective students who wish to join the department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. Our core courses generally begin in the second year of graduate study.

We recommend that applicants who intend to join the Biochemistry department have the following undergraduate preparation:
- 1 year Biology
- 1 year Chemistry
- 1 or 2 terms Genetics
- 1 year Organic Chemistry
- 1 or 2 terms Physical Chemistry (Biological emphasis)
- 1 year Physics (with Calculus preferred)
- 1 year Calculus
Please note that PBMS does not accept students for a Master's degree.
