Each nursing area holds an annual education day to provide ongoing professional development for all unit staff.
OHSU is an approved provider of continuing education contact hours. Nurses have opportunities to attend OHSU events to earn hours.

If you’re a preceptor or charge nurse, we want to support your leadership. You’ll receive training that gives you the tools you need to excel in your role.
A specialty certificate marks you as an expert in your nursing specialty. OHSU nurses receive financial support for earning certification or recertifying, plus an annual certification bonus
OHSU has a tuition benefit program for all employees, so you can take courses at reduced cost at OHSU, other Oregon University system schools and community colleges. Nurses also receive tuition support for graduate courses at the OHSU School of Nursing.
The OHSU Nursing shared governance structure is designed to support nurses’ engagement, decision making and service. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in unit-based committees and councils that bring nurses from different areas together.
