Psilocybin for Chronic Pelvic Pain (CPP)
Psilocybin is the active ingredient in psychedelic mushrooms. This study is investigating a single administration of psilocybin with psychotherapy sessions to treat chronic pelvic pain (CPP) conditions.
Participation includes 10 visits over about 6 months. There are 4 OHSU clinic visits to confirm eligibility and assess general health. There are 6 visits at Portland Psychotherapy which include two preparatory sessions (the first session can be virtual), a dosing session, and 3 integration sessions (the last two visits can be virtual).
Eligibility
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:
- Were assigned female at birth and are between the age of 21 and 45
- Have been diagnosed by a doctor with chronic pelvic pain (endometriosis, adenomyosis, uterine fibroids, pelvic congestion, other pelvic inflammatory diseases, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bladder disorders, myalgias)
- Have experienced pelvic pain for at least 6 months
- Have tried at least one prior treatment for pain without success
- Are not pregnant and are willing to use contraception during study participation
Please note there are additional study criteria to be eligible.
Compensation
Participants will be compensated $50 for each of the four OHSU clinic visits for a total of up to $200.
