Endometrial Responses to Obesity

A woman in a bright pink shirt stands smiling with her arms on her hips.

What is this study about?

The purpose of this study is to learn more about the impact of obesity on the endometrium and menstrual bleeding patterns, We hope to better understand whether having a BMI greater than 30 causes changes in the tissue lining of the uterus (the endometrium) and the menstrual cycle. If you join, we will ask to take a small tissue sample from the lining of your uterus one time. We will also ask you to answer questions in a daily text message diary. Being in this study will take about 2 months.

During each study visit, we will:

  • Collect a sample of uterine lining
  • Do a blood draw
  • Ask about your health and any medicine you take

We are looking for people who:

  • Are 18 to 45 years old
  • Have regular periods
  • Have a Body Mass Index (BMI) over 30

You will be paid up to $375 for your time and travel.
