Barriers and facilitators to cervical cancer screening among American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) individuals aged 50-64 years

HPV Self Collection Focus Group for AI & AN

AI/AN people between the ages of 50-64 have higher mortality rates from cervical cancer and lower rates of participation in cervical cancer screening programs. This study aims to identify barriers to screening and to understand this population’s knowledge on HPV, cervical cancer, and cancer screening recommendations. This will be done through an electronic survey research and a focus group discussion.

Eligibility:

  • You self-identify as an AI/AN individual with a cervix.
  • You do not have a history of cervical cancer.
  • You are between the ages of 50-64.
  • You have access to either a smartphone, tablet, or computer with video capability.

Compensation:

Participants will be compensated up to $125 for completing all parts of the study.
