OPAT For Patients

Outpatient Parental Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) is a safe and effective way to complete intravenous (IV) antibiotics outside of the hospital.  As a patient in the community, you may receive your antibiotics at home, at a skilled nursing or rehabilitation facility, or daily at an infusion center.  The OHSU OPAT program is a team of nurses, doctors and pharmacists in the division of Infectious Diseases at OHSU who manage patients in the community getting treatment for their infection with long term IV antibiotics.

For more information about OPAT and what to expect, view our brochure here.
