OHSU DEM Ranks 4th in the 2019 Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research Rankings.
CPR-EM is proud to report we ranked 4th in NIH funding among US Emergency Medicine Departments in 2019. Since 2012, our research program has ranked in the top 6 every year due to the outstanding faculty, and leadership of Dr. Craig Newgard, CPR-EM Director.

10/21/2019 - Congratulations to CPR-EM Director, Craig D. Newgard, MD, MPH who was elected as a member fo the National Academy of Medicine.
The National Academy of Medicine (NAM) today announced the election of 90 regular members and 10 international members during its annual meeting. Election to the Academy is considered one of the highest honors in the fields of health and medicine and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement and commitment to service.

June - 2019 Congratulations to Bory Kea, MD who was recognized by the OHSU Professional Staff on June 6, 2019, for Outstanding Contribution to Missions of Education and Research in the Clinical Setting.
This award is given to individuals who:
- Develop new directions, support or engagement within the clinical teams, to facilitate the missions of education and research in the clinical setting.
- Consistently demonstrate timely and creative models for teaching that incorporate the best values of professionalism and/or quality and/or team development.

May 2019 - Congrats to Denise Griffiths, Research Manager for being awarded the Emergency Medicine Chair's award for 2019 "For sustained and dedicated service to the OHSU Department of Emergency Medicine and its faculty."
