Description: While we’ve studied workplace stress for decades, organizations face unique challenges today. Now more than ever, employers need to recognize how stress affects workers and can lead to ill health. On the other hand, we’ve also learned that difficult and challenging work can be fulfilling, and workers can learn to be resilient under the right circumstances. This session covers these conflicting thoughts, as well as the research that supports building individual and organizational resilience.

Nancy works as external consultant to the American Psychiatric Foundation’s Partnership for Workplace Mental Health to promote innovative and effective approaches to addressing workplace mental health. Nancy has a PhD in therapeutic science and BS and MS degrees in occupational therapy from the University of Kansas.
