Support the Library

What We Do

The OHSU Library is the largest health sciences library in Oregon and our mission is to advance the effective, efficient and ethical use of information in support of education, research and healthcare in collaboration with OHSU faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors and volunteers. We provide information, tools and expertise that facilitate experiences and relationships that engage and nurture lifelong learning, research and creativity. Your investment in library spaces, technology and staff impact our community, and further our commitment to improving the health and well-being of Oregonians and beyond.

Ways to Support the Library

There are many ways you can support the OHSU Library. Contact Kristine Alpi, University Librarian, with your ideas! The OHSU Foundation provides information on other ways to give.

More information on donating materials and sponsoring collections

The OHSU Library collections focus on both basic sciences and health sciences. Additional subjects include environmental science, engineering and informatics. The OHSU Library welcomes your inquiries about donating books and journals in these and related areas. Items that are not needed by the Library may be made available to the OHSU community. We are unable to assess the value of donations for tax purposes. Donors providing contact information will receive a letter acknowledging our receipt of your donated materials.

The OHSU Library's Collection Sponsorship Program offers individuals, departments or organizations an opportunity to completely or partially support the annual cost of subscriptions such as journals or databases that would benefit the OHSU community. Subscriptions only available in print format will be considered. Adding a new resource requires, at minimum, a one-year financial commitment to maintain a subscription at the institutional rate. All sponsorships will be acknowledged in the online catalog and on our website.

For more information about donating materials or sponsoring collections, please contact the Library’s Director of Collection Management: Kristina DeShazo,, (503) 494-1637.
