What We Do
The OHSU Library is the largest health sciences library in Oregon and our mission is to advance the effective, efficient and ethical use of information in support of education, research and healthcare in collaboration with OHSU faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors and volunteers. We provide information, tools and expertise that facilitate experiences and relationships that engage and nurture lifelong learning, research and creativity. Your investment in library spaces, technology and staff impact our community, and further our commitment to improving the health and well-being of Oregonians and beyond.
Ways to Support the Library
Historical Collections & Archives welcomes financial contributions and donations of historical materials, as well as your participation in and support of public events and programming.
Help build and maintain the OHSU Library collections. We welcome donations and sponsorships that expand our ability to support learning, discovery and care at OHSU, throughout Oregon, and beyond! Rosenbaum’s Legacy: A History of Neurology provides one example of a funded collection and lecture series.
The OHSU Library collections focus on both basic sciences and health sciences with additional robust representation of knowledge resources in environmental science, engineering and informatics. The OHSU Library welcomes your inquiries about donating books and journals in these and related areas. Items that are not needed by the Library may be made available to the OHSU community. We are unable to assess the value of donations for tax purposes. You will receive a letter acknowledging our receipt of your donated materials.
The OHSU Library's Collection Sponsorship Program offers individuals, departments and organizations an opportunity to underwrite the annual cost of online licensed resources such as journals or databases that would be beneficial to the OHSU community. Adding a new resource requires, at minimum, a one-year financial commitment to maintain an online subscription at the institutional rate. All sponsorships will be acknowledged in the online catalog and on our website.
