Steve manages OHSU’s internal intellectual property team, working with colleagues around the university to evaluate and protect inventions. He also supports teams facilitating research collaborations and strategic alliances, licensing discoveries, and mentoring formation of new companies based on OHSU research.

Prior to joining OHSU, Steve spent more than two decades as in-house legal counsel in the pharmaceutical industry specializing in chemical, formulation, and device inventions. Steve received his B.S. from Southern Illinois University and his J.D. from Louisiana State University. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Steve fills his spare time with family, hiking, travel, writing, woodworking, and poorly trained dogs.
