Sri Balakrishnan, Senior Agreements Officer

Sri is responsible for establishing research contracts for industry-academic partnerships including sponsored research, collaboration, confidentiality and material transfer agreements. Sri loves being in academic technology transfer because of its purpose to take the best of what science has to offer for the ultimate benefit of the public.

Prior to joining OHSU, Sri worked as a post-doctoral researcher for over five years at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in La Jolla, California where she studied transcriptional regulatory mechanisms in human embryonic stem cells and its de-regulation in cancer. She entered the technology transfer field as an intern at the Technology Transfer Office at University of California, San Diego. Subsequently, she served a short stint as their technology marketing analyst prior to re-locating to Portland. Sri received her Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Louisiana State University. She is also a registered patent agent with the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Outside work, Sri loves vegetable gardening in the summers, making beaded jewelry and spending time with her family.
