Anne Carlson Technology Development Manager

Anne is responsible for management of technology development, commercialization and licensing of OHSU intellectual property and oversees the Technology Development and Licensing team.  She is also responsible for the evaluation, protection, marketing and licensing of a portfolio of technologies, primarily in the oncology and biomedical engineering fields. She works closely with OHSU’s researchers to help them move their discoveries from the lab to the market where they can have a positive impact on patient health.

Prior to joining OHSU, Anne was a post-doctoral researcher and an assistant research biologist at UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. She then switched gears, moved to Portland and worked for more than a dozen years as a patent agent specializing in biotechnology patent law at a local boutique IP law firm. Anne received a Ph.D. in anatomy and cell biology from UCLA, and B.S. and M.S. degrees in biology from McGill University (Montreal, Canada). She is also licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as a Registered Patent Agent and is a Certified Licensing Professional.

Anne loves to travel, is an avid gardener and a sports enthusiast, and is always working on improving her golf swing.
