Contrast-enhanced ultrasound test-retest reliability and operational feasibility
What is this study about and why is it being done?
The Women’s Health Research Unit is seeking participants of ages 18 and up who have uterine fibroids. We know that blood flow is important for fibroid growth, but do not have reliable ways of monitoring changes in fibroid blood flow using ultrasound. We are attempting to understand how blood vessels impact uterine fibroid growth and to develop new ultrasound techniques for measuring these blood vessels. To do this, we are performing pelvic ultrasound imaging with a contrast-enhanced pelvic ultrasound.
During this study you will:
- Participate in a screening visit (15 minutes long)
- Participate in a study visit (90 minutes long) that includes vital signs being collected, two pelvic ultrasound imaging tests with enhanced pelvic ultrasound imaging (intravenous contrast)
Who can join?
- People older than 18 years of age
- People who have a diagnosis of uterine fibroids
- People able to provide consent in either English or Spanish
Compensation
Qualified participants will be compensated up to $50 for completing the study.
