New Director of Clinical Research for APOM

Dr. Brandon Togioka has accepted the role of Director of Clinical Research for APOM. As our Vice Chair for Clinical Research, Dr. Miriam Treggiari, transitions to Yale later this summer, Brandon will take helm of our clinical research enterprise. In this role, he will mentor individual investigators and identify mentors and collaborators for all faculty and trainees doing research in the department. He will also represent the department in research activities within the School of Medicine and University, and oversee the clinical research budget.

Brandon has established a solid research presence over the past eight years, authoring 20 peer reviewed abstracts, 8 peer reviewed journal articles, and ten book chapters. He is currently the Principal Investigator for a study exploring the incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications associated with rocuronium neuromuscular reversal with Sugammadex versus Neostigmine in patients.

Brandon has served as our Medical Director of Obstetric, Fertility, and Gender Identity Anesthesia since October 2017, and will retain this role concurrently. His expertise in obstetric anesthesia is recognized both locally and nationally, and he was recently granted a joint faculty appointment in the OHSU Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Brandon is also a valuable contributor to the education mission through his role as OHSU Site Director for the Clinical Base Year, through his participation on the Residency Program Evaluation and Resident Selection Committees, and through his service as an Advancement Advisor in the APOM Academy.
