Congratulations to Drs. Tara Dhawan, Amy Miller Juve and Leila Zuo for winning “Top Poster” award for the 2021 OHSU Symposium on Educational Excellence. Their poster “Using a quantitative survey to evaluate satisfaction and engagement with The Virtual Anesthesia Academy, a multi-institutional collaboration during COVID-19”, had a near-perfect score.

Research

Congratulations to Dr. Selva Baltan who has accepted becoming a member of GLIA's Editorial Board. GLIA was first published in 1988.  It was designed as a forum for a broad range of research papers relating to glial cells.  The Journal has grown impressively since its inception and now ranks among the most respected neuroscience journals.  The Journal's success has depended importantly on the quality control exerted by their Editorial Board and they are very selective about who is invited to serve on the Board

Congratulations to Dr. Michael Barrington for his selection as Executive Editor for the Regional and Acute Pain Section of Anesthesia & Analgesia. Dr. Barrington recently joined our department from the University of Melbourne and his impact is already being felt. He is world renown for his expertise in regional anesthesia.  He led the initial anatomic and clinical validation of the TAP block and he developed the International Registry of Regional Anesthesia to evaluate the Safety and Quality of regional blocks. He has garnered over 1.5 million in grants and his H-index is an impressive 25.
