The Biomedical Innovation Program's Commercial Readiness Program (BIP CORP)
A four-week biomedical commercialization course designed for the busy medical academician or industry scientist with an early-stage project. View course details.
INVENT seminar series
The INVENT Seminar Series hosts experts from the regional life science community to introduce fundamental principles of commercialization and entrepreneurship. This event aims to inspire and guide innovations from the university to the market, offer skill-building opportunities, develop a broad awareness of the commercialization pathway, and create robust networking opportunities. Join your fellow entrepreneurial-minded colleagues for this lively and informal opportunity to share your ideas and prototypes and receive input from a diverse cross section of clinicians, scientists, engineers, business and commercialization experts, and industry professionals. Register here.
Student Innovator Challenge and InventOR Competition
An annual OHSU student idea competition, intended for student-led concepts or technologies. Participants receive individualized training and mentorship for the duration of the competition to develop their pitch and innovation, compete to win prizes, and advance to the InventOR Statewide Collegiate Finals to win up to $30,000 in cash prizes.
Students will come away with the resources and skills to:
- Develop an effective business pitch.
- Understand the basics of bringing a concept from idea to market
- Grasp the fundamentals of commercialization.

Want to make healthcare better? Brainstorm –Build –Make an Impact
Come propel an idea into action. OHSU is joining forces with MIT Hacking Medicine and partners across the region to bring you the inaugural OHSU Invent-a-thon. Join a diverse group of clinicians, engineers, scientists, business leaders, entrepreneurs, developers, makers, students, patients, and industry leaders for a weekend of inter-disciplinary collaboration and creativity. You will have a chance to tackle pressing challenges in medtech, digital health, and health IT, receive guidance from mentors, and compete for up to $40,000 in team prizes.
