Master of Science in Healthcare Administration Degree Program


The Master of Science in Healthcare Administration is a graduate-level degree program that provides health care managers with the practical knowledge and skill to lead teams, improve processes, and implement strategy within the complex world of healthcare delivery. This online master's degree in healthcare is designed for busy working professionals wanting to grow their career and leadership skills in the healthcare industry. The program enables students from across the nation to graduate in as little as 21 months. 

Online Degree Format

This fast paced and in demand program enables students from around the nation to graduate in as little as 21 months. Our fully online hybrid model provides students the flexibility to complete a master degree and still work full time.  

  • Students take two courses per term and complete the program in 21 months
  • Plan for an average of 20-25 hours of work per week for this program
  • 80% asynchronous, online instruction
  • 20% live, online class

Faculty in this program bring clinical and administrative perspectives to the virtual classroom. The program consists of 54 credits comprised of the courses listed below. 

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Three years of full-time professional work experience (preferably in healthcare)

  2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

    • If the degree was earned outside of the U.S., it must be equivalent to a four-year U.S. baccalaureate degree. 

  3. Minimum undergraduate cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 

    • Candidates who do not meet the 3.0 GPA requirement must submit a low GPA petition as part of the online application. 

Please note, at this time, our program is only available to applicants living within the United States. 

TOEFL scores may be required for applicants whose primary language is not English and for applicants with foreign degrees that were not instructed in English. Minimum accepted TOEFL scores: Paper-based (625), Internet-based (106), Computer-based (263). Scores should be sent directly from Educational Testing Services (ETS) to OHSU using TOEFL Code: 4865 (Oregon Hlth Sci U Sch Medicine). 

This program is offered on a part-time only basis; therefore, we cannot accept applicants on F-1 or J-1 student visas

Application Materials and Process

  1. Apply online 

    • Select Healthcare Management-Masters.

    • Complete all four application sections (personal information, academic history, program materials, and supporting information).

      • Attach a current resume or curriculum vitae

      • Answer the 500-700 word personal statement essay prompts and attach as pdf documents

      • Provide contact information for two professional references

      • Submit official transcripts from every college or university ever attended

  • Secure digital transcripts can be emailed directly from institutions to 

  • International transcripts may need to be evaluated by WES ICAP. Please consult the WES ICAP website for instructions and fees. Applicants are responsible for the full cost of the service.  

  • Pay the $70 non-refundable application fee and submit the application for review.

    2. Interview

    Once a complete admissions file (online application, transcripts, test scores) has been received and reviewed, qualified candidates will be invited to interview via phone.
