Minimum Qualifications
Applicants to the MS in Healthcare Administration (MSHA) and the Healthcare MBA must meet the following baseline requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Applicants below the GPA requirement may submit a Low GPA Petition as part of the online application
If your degree was earned outside the United States, it must be equivalent to a four-year U.S. bachelor’s degree.

Healthcare MBA Experience Requirement
The Healthcare MBA applicants must have at least three years of professional work experience, ideally in health care or a related field.
This experience ensures students:
- contribute real-world insight to discussions
- engage deeply with advanced coursework
- strengthen the collaborative learning environment of the cohort

Healthcare MBA
Designed for experienced professionals seeking senior or executive leadership roles.
International Degrees and English Proficiency
Applicants with international academic credentials may need additional documentation.
Credential evaluation
International transcripts may need to be evaluated by World Education Services (WES ICAP) to verify equivalency to a U.S. bachelor’s degree.
English language proficiency
Applicants whose degree was earned in a country where English is not the primary language of instruction must demonstrate English proficiency.
Accepted TOEFL scores:
- Paper-based: 625
- Internet-based: 106
- Computer-based: 263
Scores must be sent directly from ETS to OHSU (Code: 4865).
Visa Eligibility
The MSHA and Healthcare MBA are fully online graduate programs.
Because of their format, the programs cannot sponsor F-1 or J-1 student visas under current U.S. immigration regulations.
Applicants who require a student visa to study in the United States are not eligible for admission at this time.
Applicants may apply if they do not require visa sponsorship.

Application Process
Follow these steps to submit your application. A $70 non-refundable application fee is required before submitting your application. Your application will not be reviewed until all materials are submitted.
Step 1 – Start Your Online Application
Apply through the OHSU graduate admissions portal.
Select Healthcare Management – Masters.
Complete all four application sections:
- Personal information
- Academic history
- Program materials
- Supporting information

Step 2 – Upload Application Materials

Upload a current professional resume or curriculum vitae as part of your online application.
Personal Statements
Submit a 500–700-word response to each personal statement prompt included in the application.
Professional References
Provide contact information for two professional references. Letters of recommendation are not required.
Step 3 – Submit Official Transcripts
Official transcripts must be sent from every college or university attended.
