Thank you for choosing a career at OHSU! The New Employee Orientation (NEO) team is thrilled to assist with your onboarding, in partnership with your manager and your department. We know that there is a lot to do before starting a new job and the list of resources below is curated to help you get started.

Your first week on the job
- Complete your required paperwork.
- Before traveling to campus, please do the following (tasks should be completed electronically in iCIMS, if available):
- Prepare to bring all education documentation up to and including the highest degree earned (e.g. bachelors and masters).
- Prepare to bring documentation of Basic Life Saving (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, if applicable.
- Be sure to complete Section 1 of your I-9 form electronically before your start date and bring all documents required for I-9 completion.
- Complete and bring your signed Federal State Program Compliance Verification and CIPPA forms.
- If you work outside the Portland metro area, email the Records Team for information on completing the I-9 remotely.
- Before traveling to campus, please do the following (tasks should be completed electronically in iCIMS, if available):
- Locate your work site, if traveling to campus, and get the latest travel updates.
- Contact AAEO to learn about and request accommodations.
- Review OHSU's employee benefit options.
- Keep an eye on your email for any additional pre-hire tasks and communication.
- Make sure to touch base with your manager before you travel to campus so you know when/if to arrive, where to go and what to bring with you on your first day.
- Even though you may be working remotely, you will still need to come to Marquam Hill and complete the I-9 form in person if you live within the Portland metro area. I-9 preparers are available in Sam Jackson Hall, Suite 1102.
- The HR Service Center (Sam Jackson Hall, Suite 1102) is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to process new hires; please work with your manager or onboarding contact to schedule a time to travel to campus for required paperwork. I-9 completion is highly recommended for the first day of employment and is required within the first three days of employment.
- Participate in New Employee Orientation (now self-paced and virtual). This training will be automatically assigned to you in OHSU's learning management system.
- Plan to complete other mandatory education and obtain your OHSU ID badge (if traveling to campus).
- Orient to your work space or work with your manager to secure any necessary supplies if working remotely.
- Clarify attendance procedures and review performance expectations and objectives with your manager.
- Gain access to OHSU’s internal networks and systems.
- Enroll in benefits (if applicable) as soon as possible to ensure timely coverage.
