Comprehensive Care Teaching Clinic

The General Dentistry Teaching Clinic at OHSU provides comprehensive professional-quality care for our adult patients and educates the next generation of dentists. Student doctors are trained in the latest technologies, research, and practices by experienced board-licensed faculty in our state-of-the-art clinics.

Services include: Exams and X-rays, Fillings/Restorations, Crowns, Implants, Dentures, and Urgent Care Services.

Our student doctors provide excellent care for patients, however, appointments are typically longer due to the instructional process. As a result, the fees for care are substantially lower than private practice, making the OHSU Teaching Clinic a great value for patients!

We are accepting new patients for admittance.

If you have been referred, please be aware that it may be 6-8 weeks before we contact you to schedule after receiving your referral. At this time, our clinics are not accepting new patients for comprehensive dental care until August 9th. If you are covered by Care Assist, we are accepting new patients at our Russell Street Dental Clinic. If you are interested in becoming a patient and are not covered by Care Assist, please call back in mid-August.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

When you become a patient, you will be assigned to a student dentist, who will be your primary dental provider. Patients are treated by 3rd and 4th year student doctors in our four-year Doctor of Medical Dentistry education program, under the supervision of local practicing dentists.  In the clinic students often work in pairs, to ensure continuity of patient care. Student dental providers are supervised by faculty dentists at every stage of treatment to ensure high quality care and a patient experience.
