Paying for care

OHSU Dental Clinics offers affordable care and we accept most dental insurance plans. In our Comprehensive Teaching and Specialty Clinics prices are 30 to 40 percent lower than area private practices, making OHSU Dental Clinics a great option for patients without insurance or those who want to make their insurance dollars go farther.

OHSU Dental Clinics accepts dental insurance plans, including most Delta Dental and Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, and Oregon State Medicaid/Oregon Health Plan and Washington State Medicaid/Apple Health plans. We cannot provide free care, but our prices are significantly lower than area private practices, making OHSU Dental Clinics a great option for patients without insurance or those who want to make their insurance dollars go farther.

Your portion of treatment costs is due at the time of service. For payment we accept:

  • Cash and Checks
  • CareCredit payment plans

We are happy to provide cost ranges quotes over the phone for exams and common procedures. As a courtesy we will contact your insurance for an estimate of coverage before your appointment and send in a claim for you after your appointment.

Comprehensive Teaching Clinic

  • New Patient examination, x-rays, routine cleaning - adult $167.00
  • New Patient examination, x-rays, routine cleaning, fluoride - child $154
  • Urgent Care patient exam, x-rays $84.00*

Specialty Clinics

  • New Patient examination, x-rays, routine cleaning - adult $327.00
  • New Patient examination, x-rays, routine cleaning, fluoride - child $303
  • Urgent Care patient exam, x-rays $107*

Your costs may vary from estimates based on your treatment plan and the complexity of your care. Your treatment plan will have the recommended treatment, procedure fees, and our best estimate of insurance coverage. We make every effort to provide accurate estimates.

*Urgent Care patient exam, radiographs (to start, then treatment as necessary) *It is recommended that urgent care patients be prepared to pay up to $250.00 for their visit.

The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program, established in 1990, helps improve healthcare access for low-income, uninsured, and underserved individuals living with HIV. Funded by the federal government and administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the program supports medical care, essential services, and medications. It plays a key role in expanding treatment and reducing health disparities for people with HIV.
