Anupama Acheson DoM Headshot
Anupama Acheson, M.D., M.B.A.

Anupama is a collaborative team leader who has strived to build relationships with diverse groups of professionals throughout her career. She valued her experiences with patients and healthcare professionals during her prior clinical work as a medical oncologist. Those experiences provided her a perspective into the successes and challenges of the healthcare system, and led to her pursue a Healthcare MBA through OHSU. Currently, she is a Senior Medical Monitor for an international Clinical Research Organization (CRO), with expertise in oncology clinical trials.

Omar Al Rais, M.B.A., MBChB, D Pharmacology

Omar Al Rais is the Senior Vice President of Operations and former Interim President and CEO at Project Access NOW. Before joining the organization, Omar served as the Director of Affiliate Quality and Compliance at Planned Parenthood of Southwestern Oregon, where he led affiliate risk, quality, compliance, and patient experience efforts. Omar has a deep and varied background in medical care, policy, and quality improvement, including earning an MBA in Healthcare Management from Oregon Health & Science University and Portland State University in 2019.

Karin K. Bell, M.S.

Karin is the manager of Digital Content Experience at Anthem Health, with oversight of the Digital Content Solutions Delivery for public channels as well as Health and Wellness Digital Content Strategy Solutions, collaborating with many to address the physical, behavioral and social drivers that impact whole health. Prior to this role, Karin was with Portland-based Legacy Health for 10 years, advancing and improving their digital ecosystem and footprint. In addition to serving as adjunct instructor for OHSU’s Division of Management, Karin takes enjoys her mentoring role with women-centered professional organizations.

Tom Culhane, M.D., M.M.M., M.H.C.M.

Tom is a native of Portland.  After graduating from Jesuit High School he attended Stanford University where he earned his bachelor's degree in biological sciences.  He returned to Portland to attend OHSU where he completed his M.D. degree in 1979.

Bud has focused a large part of his career on aligning technology with organizational strategies, implementing process improvement, and enhancing productivity for clinical area. 

Jawanza Hadley
Jawanza Hadley, M.S., P.M.P.

As the Program Director for Work2BeWell, Jawanza will spearhead national program expansion, oversee curriculum development and digital asset development, and build community partnerships with local and national education and behavioral health organizations. Previously, Jawanza worked on Providence’s mental health strategy team where he served as senior project manager supporting the expansion of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. Prior to joining Providence, he served as practice leader for a large multi-specialty digestive health clinic at Oregon Health & Science University. He is a champion of education, particularly as it relates to adolescent behavioral health and well-being, having served as a high school teacher for 11 years in Portland, Oregon.

Aleshia King, M.B.A.

Aleshia is a compassionate, transformative leader who values equity and innovation. She began her career in administrative roles within holistic care, behavioral health, and addictions treatment centers. After earning her degree in psychology & addictions studies and her Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor credential, she served as an Admissions Counselor, supporting individuals transitioning from inpatient to outpatient care. She later studied business administration while gaining experience in revenue management, training, and finance. Her passion for improving systems for underserved communities led her to healthcare IT and completion of her master’s degree through OHSU & PSU’s Healthcare MBA program. Aleshia continues developing her skills in strategic planning and innovation as a consultant and Project Manager at Providence.

Anne King
Anne King, M.B.A.

Anne is the Oregon State Director for Comagine Health where she leads partner and community engagement, governance activities and local business development. Prior to joining Comagine Health, she was one of the founders, and most recently, the Associate Director of the Oregon Rural Practice-based Research Network at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Other roles in her 23 years at OHSU include operations leadership positions at the Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute and the Center for Evidence-based Policy. Anne has significant experience in quality improvement, Medicaid policy, and primary care and health disparities research. 

Matt Lewis, Ph.D., M.T.S.
Matt Lewis, Ph.D., M.T.S.

With over fifteen years of experience in academia and consulting, Dr. Matthew Lewis is a scholar and practitioner focused on human-centered leadership practices that build connection, strengthen teams, and enhance wellbeing in healthcare organizations. He has taught courses on narrative, leadership, trauma, and identity at Harvard, Syracuse, and Emory. As a consultant, he has designed and facilitated leadership initiatives for professionals in healthcare, law, philanthropy, startups, nonprofits, and NGOs. He also partners with executives as a ghostwriter for speeches, pitches, and books. Dr. Lewis is adjunct faculty at OHSU and Co-Director of the Relational Leadership Programs in Family Medicine.

Jaclyn Liu, M.S.

Jaclyn Liu serves as Community Health Program Manager at Stanford Health Care, managing SHC's community health investment portfolio to reduce health disparities and driving organizational community benefit and health equity strategies. Through this work, she cultivates relationships with diverse stakeholders across the Stanford Medicine enterprise and the broader community to promote engagement and alignment of health equity-related initiatives and support community partners in understanding their needs, guiding them to achieve their goals, and monitoring impact of grant investments aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of underserved communities. 

Lavon Medlock DoM Headshot
Lavon Medlock, M.S.

Lavon has spent the last two decades enjoying a career encompassing healthcare consulting, small business ownership, hospital-based operations, process improvement and executive coaching.  She is currently employed with the Central Oregon based St. Charles Health Care System as director of Clinical Program Services.  In this capacity, Lavon has played a leadership role in developing and deploying a team-based primary care model as a key strategic initiative for the organization.  Previous roles include co-leading the Integrated Facility Design, construction, and activation of 90,000 critical care clinical space at the flagship hospital.  She is both lean process improvement and Six Sigma green belt certified and enjoys translating those management principles to daily work. 

Jeff Oltmann
Jeff Oltmann

Jeff Oltmann helps organizations accelerate results through strategy deployment and project portfolio management.  He consults, teaches, and leads forums for senior PMO leaders. He is principal at Synergy Professional Services (spspro.com) in Portland, Oregon and is on the faculty of the Division of Management at Oregon Health and Science University. He was previously on executive staff at IBM and is the founder of the Portfolio and Project Leaders Forum, a gathering of senior managers who lead project-based organizations 

Kat Phillips
Kat Phillips, M.S., PMP

Kat Phillips is the Director of Health Equity at OHSU, a newly formed health center focused on developing community-based care models that serve historically minoritized individuals and underserved populations in the state of Oregon. This work bridges the gap between health systems and community leaders and aims to improve healthcare access and affordability for marginalized community groups. 

Tracy Quan
Tracy Quan, M.B.A., P.M.P.

Tracy is a healthcare professional with 15 years experience in creating valuable solutions for a variety of sponsors. She finds motivation in cultivating engaged multidisciplinary teams. She thrives in the cross-section of technology, organizational culture, and strategy. She is a proud graduate of The Healthcare M.B.A. She is also the Senior Director of Implementation at AccessHope, a provider of employee benefits in leading-edge cancer support. Prior to her current role, she enjoyed roles in portfolio/program management, healthcare technology implementation, and consulting. Her professional interests include employee engagement, strategic communications, and applying Agile methodologies to non-traditional use cases.

Dr. Sakaguchi has a diverse background in medical business and finance. He is an accomplished physician and surgeon completing residencies in both general surgery and obstetrics/gynecology. 

Michael Schwartz
Michael Schwartz, M.B.A.

Michael is a Human Resources Business Partner at MultiCare Health System, where he supports over 150 leaders and 3,600 employees across multiple hospitals, clinics, and ambulatory surgery centers. With several years of experience in strategic HR leadership, he specializes in aligning HR initiatives with business objectives to optimize talent acquisition, employee development, and retention. In June, Michael will transition into a new role as an Administrative Fellow at MultiCare Health System, where he will focus on healthcare operations, strategic initiatives, and leadership development to drive system-wide improvements.

Brooke is a healthcare project manager with a passion for system-level redesign with a focus on equity and the environment. Before moving into healthcare, Brooke studied and worked as an environmental scientist, organic farmer, and nonprofit executive director. Through attending OHSU-PSU's Healthcare MBA program, she moved into a career in healthcare transformation. She has led the development of a housing investment strategy as a Community Engagement Specialist at Columbia Pacific CCO, led IT implementations as an IS Project Manager at Providence Health and Services, and currently leads strategic initiatives as a Project Manager at CareOregon.

Kate Wallace is a Director of Nursing Services for Asante Health System in Southern Oregon. She is passionate about cultivating her leadership team; encouraging agility in an-ever changing healthcare environment; improving processes to achieve outcomes; and, ultimately engaging with those responsible for delivering safe, high quality, and effective care to Asante’s communities.

Randi is a healthcare leader passionate about supporting caregivers providing care to our community. She is a Director of Operations at Adventist Health Medical Group in Portland, Oregon, with a varied background in hospital, ambulatory, and nonprofit foundation leadership. Randi loves solving problems, developing structures and workflows that improve operational efficiency, with a focus on clinical quality, patient experience, and caregiver engagement.
