Affirmative action and equal opportunity at OHSU
OHSU is committed to cultivating a supportive, inclusive and respectful environment for all employees, patients and visitors. Feeling unsafe, uncomfortable or intimidated at work does not align with the mission of OHSU and therefore, is not taken lightly. In the face of conflict or crisis, it can be difficult to know where to turn, but OHSU has many different resources for employees, students and patients.
There are multiple resources for employees or students who witness, observe or experience discrimination, including the Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity department (AAEO). AAEO offers a place to discuss and report issues, concerns and conflicts regarding discriminatory or harassing behavior. AAEO also helps identify how such concerns and conflicts may best be addressed and resolved. The office supports OHSU’s compliance with federal and state laws regarding discrimination and harassment, affirmative action and equal employment opportunity. Some examples of issues AAEO addresses and offers services for are:
- Title IX compliance
- Education and training in civil rights and employment laws
- Prohibited discrimination complaint investigation
- ADA and religious accommodation request for employees, students, and volunteers
- Affirmative Action planning and reporting
- Community outreach
The Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity department is here to help. If you feel you are being discriminated against or harassed , contact the AAEO office at firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also call the Integrity Hotline at any time 877-733-8313 (toll free; 24 hours/day; 7 days/week).
