Admissions

Degree requirements

There are three paths to gaining admission to the OHSU Radiation Therapy Program. All prerequisite courses must be taken at another institution. Please note that the OHSU Radiation Therapy Program does not offer an associate degree in radiologic technology.

Prerequisites

Completion of at least 90 quarter hours (60 semester hours), specifically the Radiation Therapy prerequisites, is required prior to enrollment in the Radiation Therapy Program. Students may apply while they are completing the admission requirements, but must complete prerequisite courses and credits prior to enrollment. Please refer to prerequisites for a complete list of required credits.

Associate Degree

Applicants who have completed an associate degree in Radiologic Technology from a JRCERT accredited program may apply. Applicants may be required to complete additional courses during their junior and senior years to fulfill OHSU degree requirements.

Bachelor's Degree

Currently many students have completed a bachelor's degree before entering the Radiation Therapy program. A bachelor's degree fulfills most of the prerequisites. All natural science prerequisites are required in addition if not included in the bachelor's degree.

The Radiation Therapy Program offers unofficial transcript review and advisement for all potential students. Feel free to contact the Radiation Therapy Program with any questions regarding acceptable prerequisites, or to set up a phone meeting with program faculty.

The OHSU Registrar has final approval of transfer credits.

30 hours of observation at a clinic must be completed before applying for admission.

Although students may apply while in the process of completing the admission requirements and academic prerequisites, those admitted must provide a final transcript prior to registration at OHSU showing the completion of relevant requirements.
