National Cancer Institute accepts applications for dissemination and implementation workshop

The National Cancer Institute Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences is hosting the Training Institute for Dissemination and Implementation Research in Cancer (TIDIRC) in 2020. The TIDIRC provides participants with training in conducting dissemination and implementation research with a focus on cancer research. TIRIRC offers both online courses and in-person trainings featuring faculty and guest lecturers.

  

2019

AcademyHealth hosting Learning Health Systems Session at 2019 Annual Research Meeting

AcademyHealth’s 2019 Annual Research Meeting will feature a special workshop on Learning Health Systems on the afternoon of Saturday, June 1 in Washington, D.C. “Addressing Real-World Challenges in Evaluation of Complex Interventions in Learning Health Systems” will address multiple areas in the design, implementation, and evaluation of Learning Health Systems. Both Drs. Guise and Savitz will be participating and representing the NW Center of Excellence.

   

PACT-k12 Program selects first cohort of five scholars from four institutions

The PACT-k12 Training Program, part of the NW Center of Excellence in Learning Health Systems Science, has selected the first cohort of LHS scholars to join the program! The scholars come for four partnering institutions, are embedded within three partnering health systems, and are studying a diverse array of topics. Journal of General Internal Medicine releases call for submissions for special healthcare issue on quality improvement and implementation science

The Journal of General Internal Medicine (JGIM) has release a call for article submission for a special upcoming issue. This issue will have a strong focus on quality improvement and implementation science in healthcare delivery. JGIM will be accepting roughly 10-12 papers with findings on these topics and all are welcome to submit. Deadline for submissions is September 3, 2019. AHRQ and PCORI host first annual LHS K12 Program Directors Meeting in Rockville, MD

The OHSU/KPNW Center of Excellence was honored to join representatives from all 10 other COEs, along with AHRQ and PCORI representatives at the first annual Program Directors meeting at AHRQ headquarters in March 2019. The directors of all programs continue to meet monthly by phone. See the meeting agenda for more information.

OHSU/KPNW awarded new program as one of 11 Centers of Excellence in LHS Science by AHRQ/PCORI

As part of an initiative to prioritize learning health systems science, AHRQ and PCORI funded a new training program to create centers of excellence across the country focused on the topic. OHSU and KPNW, partnered with local academic centers and health systems, were selected as one of 11 centers! See news postings for more information:
