Internships available in 2024!

Are you interested in a paid internship in an OHSU research lab? Check out these opportunities:

  • For undergraduates from backgrounds underrepresented in biomedical research who want to spend the summer at OHSU in a lab, the OHSU Equity Research Program is accepting applications until January 22, 2024.
  • Chemical Physiology and Biochemistry Summer Undergraduate Research Program (CPB-SURP) is another program that puts undergraduates in the lab for the summer. Applications are likely due at the end of February, 2024.
  • For undergraduates potentially interested in cancer biology, the B-BRITE program is accepting applications through February 1, 2024. Applications are encouraged from students with backgrounds underrepresented in biomedical research.
  • The OHSU Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) is a highly mentored program to prepare graduates from historically marginalized backgrounds to pursue a career in biomedical research. Applications open in December, 2023. No word on when they close.
  • Want to work with data rather than with cell culture or pipettes? You want the College Undergraduate Biomedical Informatics and Data Science Internship Program which is accepting applications until February 16, 2024.
  • The OccHealthSci Undergraduate Summer Internships was on hold in 2023, I'm hoping it's back for 2024. Stay tuned!
  • The Oregon National Primate Research Center runs an internship program for high school students through graduates. Undergraduate internship applications are due January 26, 2024. Check it out for more details.
  • Biomedical Engineering has run the undergraduate Oregon Research and InnovatiON (ORION) Undergraduate Internship Program in past years, and I hope they will again in 2024. In 2023, the application deadline was February 24. Send the following materials to BMEIntern@ohsu.edu: 1) CV or resume; 2) Unofficial transcript; 3) Cover letter describing career goals and research interest; 4) One letter of recommendation sent separately.
  • Maybe interested in healthcare administration? The OHSU Administrative Internship Program will take applications until mid-January 2024. Unusually, this program will also take recent graduates.
