About the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology

OHSU provider, Dr. Charles Lopez, speaks with a patient in the Hematology Oncology patient waiting room

The Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology is comprised of specialists dedicated to providing the best possible care for patients with cancer and blood disorders. Many of our faculty are affiliated with one or more research programs in the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute.  The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute is an international leader in cancer research and treatment. Driven by its mission to end cancer as we know it, the institute is building on its expertise in targeted treatments to advance the early detection of cancer when the disease is most treatable.

The Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology also offers an exciting fellowship program with the goal of training physician-scientists with backgrounds in internal medicine to become accomplished clinicians and productive independent researchers.

The division is part of the Department of Medicine at OHSU, and all our faculty members have joint appointments in the Knight Cancer Institute and the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology.
