OHSU Inaugural Epigenetics Symposium (virtual)

On October 22nd, the KCVI Epigenetics consortium at OHSU successfully hosted a virtual Inaugural Epigenetics symposium. This event replaced the in-person symposium, that has been postponed to next year (save the date for October 14th, 2021). The symposium was organized by Lucia Carbone (Director of the Epigenetics consortium), the morning session was chaired by Andrew Adey and Casey Thornton, and the afternoon session was chaired by Shawn Chavez and Mariam Okhovat. Nearly 300 people connected from around the world to attend this event. The symposium covered a diverse range of Epigenetics topics and featured prominent speakers, who showcased their front-line research and shared exciting new unpublished data. Topics covered ranged from development (Shendure, Buenrostro, Phillips-Cremins) and reproduction (Kimmins), to cancer (Choung), aging (Brunet), and psychiatric epigenetics (Mill). We also learned how insight from seemingly primitive non-model organisms, such as dinoflagellates (Dekker) and Ciona (Farley), can help shed light on complex epigenetic phenomena. While topics were diverse, talks were equally high in quality and caliber.

If you missed the symposium or would like to watch any of the presentations again, the links for the recordings are below and will be available for the next couple of weeks on this website. Enjoy!
